Concert pianist Pauline Martin of West Bloomfield has officially accepted the designation “Steinway Artist”, joining the ranks of the most accomplished and discriminating pianists in the world. The award was presented to her by Tim Hoy, President of Steinway Gallery of Detroit as she performed in recital on October 28, 2012 to a warm and enthusiastic audience. Featured on the program was a work from her Grammy nominated CD “Hobson’s Choice” (works by Malcolm Arnold), recorded at Orchestra Hall Detroit.
In addressing the audience, Mr. Hoy cited Pauline’s unequalled commitment to the arts in Michigan, her artistry and her dedication to performing the works of the masters. In addition to her concert stage schedule, Pauline Martin is the Artistic Director of Chamber Soloists of Detroit (formerly Pro Mozart Society of Greater Detroit). CSD has received numerous contributions to its “Pauline Martin Fund”, initiated to commemorate this event.
