Pianist Pauline Martin, violinist Daphna Raz, cellist Una O’Riordan and flutist Dennis Carter are captured here, as they acknowledge enthusiastic applause from a sold-out crowd gathered in the grand hall of Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe for CSD’s exclusive appearance at the third annual HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS event on Dec. 5, 2013. Patrons enjoyed an elegant dinner, horse-drawn carriage ride and guided tour before settling in for an intimate concert in the grand hall.
Special guest, Detroit composer James Hartway, thanked the artists for their outstanding performance of his now-classic Piano Trio, “City Sketches”. “City Sketches” is a series of musical vignettes representing Dr. Hartway’s childhood memories of Detroit. Enhanced by his entertaining and informative remarks, CSD’s trio performance drew a standing ovation.
