Boston Symphony Orchestra French hornist Rachel Childers and Detroit Symphony Orchestra violinist Adrienne Rönmark will reunite with Detroit pianist Pauline Martin on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Farmington in a program featuring the sublime Brahms Trio for Violin, French Horn and Piano, Beethoven’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, Opus 24 (“Spring”), Awakening of Pearls for Violin, Horn and Piano by contemporary Czech composer Jiri Pazour and Prelude, Opus 27  No. 4 by Jacques François Gallay.

Friends and colleagues since their student days in the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra and at the University of Michigan, Childers and Rönmark look forward to their first chamber performance together in a decade.

A Farmington Hills native, in 2011 French hornist Childers was the first woman in history to be appointed to the Boston Symphony’s brass section.  Formerly the acting assistant principal horn with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, she has performed with the San Diego Symphony, Long Beach Symphony (Marin, California), and Fresno Philharmonic. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of Michigan and an Artist Diploma from prestigious Colburn School in Los Angeles.

Originally from Troy, violinist Rönmark served as assistant and associate concertmaster of the Ann Arbor Symphony from 1999 to 2007 and became a member of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s First Violin Section in 2008.  Her chamber music collaborations have taken her across the globe with artists such as Pinchas Zukerman and Nigel Kennedy. She has been featured as soloist with the Detroit Symphony as well as the Warren, Birmingham-Bloomfield, Grosse Pointe, and Southern Great Lakes Symphony Orchestras.   Ronmark holds a bachelor’s degree with honors from The University of Michigan and a master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.  She is the daughter of former Detroit Symphony Orchestra members, cellist Debra Fayroian and tubist Wesley Jacobs.

Artistic Director of Chamber Soloists of Detroit, pianist Pauline Martin is internationally recognized for her solo and chamber music performances and recordings.  She is a founding member of the St. Clair Trio whose credits include a Grammy nomination and Chamber Music America/WZXR-FM award.  The Canadian-born Martin has collaborated with leading instrumentalists and has been featured as concerto soloist with North American orchestras including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the New American Chamber Orchestra and Orchestra London Canada.  Martin holds advanced degrees in piano performance from Indiana University and The University of Michigan.

Each Chamber Soloists of Detroit concert features complimentary refreshments and conversation with the musicians at a Talk Back – Just Between Us  – immediately following the performance.
