Chamber Soloists of Detroit returns to the beautiful sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Farmington to open its 2014-2015 subscription season with the internationally recognized Ehnes Quartet on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Since its sold-out CSD performance in 2013, the Ehnes Quartet has performed to critical acclaim in North America, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and France. Strad Magazine wrote, of violinists James Ehnes and Amy Moretti, violist Richard O’Neill and cellist Robert deMaine, “They meshed together like the old friends they are, themes passing seamlessly, unison writing blending perfectly as solo themes emerged, and the ebb and flow managed beautifully.” Beethoven’s distinctive early and late String Quartets, Op. 18, No. 1 and Op. 132, frame the deeply personal Voces Intimae Inner Voices) Quartet, Op. 5 by Jean Sibelius.
